natural childbirth
Dakota Lyn’s Mommy asked:

I am about 98% sure that I would like to have a natural childbirth with no medication at all. The problem is EVERYONE including my husband says I am an idiot for not taking the drugs when they are available. I just want to be able to feel everything whether it be good or bad. (plus everyone I know who had an epidural, they all had bad experiences with it)

So what do you guys think am I an idiot for not wanting to be drugged up during the birth of my child?

I am 24 and this is my first baby.
Don’t worry I am not completely against medication I would just prefer not to hence the “98%” sure :). My periods were so bad they made me immobile I would just sit in my bath tub and throw up over and over (sorry if TMI). I just figured if I can handle that I can handle this without medication.

natural childbirth
Emily O asked:

We know we want a midwife, but have not yet decided whether to have a home birth or deliver in a birthing center at our hospital. Can some of you share your experiences, good or bad, with either of these options?
Again, I’m really only interested in responses that talk about birthing centers or homebirth, not traditional hospital settings. Thanks
I meant natural as in not clinical.

natural childbirth
Rosie B asked:

Any tips or advice? Anyone who planned to have a natural birth but then changed your mind part way through? I’m due on July 3 and planning to have a natural birth but would like to hear some real experiences. Thanks!
By the way, I will NOT have an epidural. I know far too many people who have had ongoing back problems caused by them.
