Birthing Is A Labor of Love

It is offen asked why someone would hire a Doula if they have the support of their partner. Another common question is,"Will my husband feel 'left out' if we decide to hire a doula?"

My presence at your birth will allow you and your partner to experience the birth of your baby as fully as possible. Without the pressure of not knowing what to do in case of a difficult or long or powerful labor, your partner will be able to be there for you at all times.

Your partner and I work together, I am there in addition to, not instead
of, your partner, and we make the perfect support team for you, complementing each other's strengths.

Your partner (the baby's father or another loved one) plays an essential role in providing support for you in labor as they have intimate knowledge and love for you and your baby in a way no other person can duplicate. I will guide your partner in ways that they can best support you (through teaching them massage techniques, breathing techniques,
comforting words, etc.).

The pressure on your partner is decreased and they can participate at their own comfort level and they enjoy the experience more as they are assisted and guided in effective ways to help you in labor.

I am not only there to support the mom, I am there to help the couple or entire family.

"With the doula present, the father is never left as the sole, isolated, responsible person caring for the laboring mother.
This vital ingredient-the support of an experienced woman-has been lost in modern obstetrical care."
