Have you had natural childbirth and birth with an epidural?

I’ve posted this before but only got two answers. I’d like to know your thoughts on going medication-free vs. using the epidural. It pretty much boils down to side effects vs. pain. Which is worse? Which is better? How is it different? Serious answers only please.
